There's nothing new under the sun
Whatever you do, it's already been done
Attempt innovation, try as you might
Labor on it all day and night
Be as original as you can
Travel your own path, copy no man
Then show your work to someone you know
They'll say, "It reminds me of so and so."
"It puts me in mind of this or that."
"Were you thinking of Seuss when you drew that cat?"
"Were you reading cummings when you wrote that verse?"
"Emulating Picasso? You could do worse..."
I gave up on trying to impress anyone
'Cause, there's nothing new under the sun.
